Katharine Mulherin Contemporary Art Projects is celebrating our last presentation of the season

with new sculpture and installation work by Toronto-based artist Jason Van Horne.

Van Horne's practice includes built miniature dioramas depicting scenes of zombie carnage and

human coping using HO-scale figures and reclaimed packing materials such as styrofoam and

plastic containers, along with large-scale installations of imaginary cities that depict a future

perhaps all too convincingly.

Using whatever can be recycled and re-presented, Van Horne's multi-disciplinary work has been primarily

focused on the tension between the mythologies and realities of the urban landscape.

Jason Van Horne graduated from the Sculpture/Installation department of the Ontario College of Art & Design

and is represented by Katharine Mulherin Contemporary Art Projects in Toronto.

Since we all love Jason and his work so much, we have decided to join him in his representation of doom.

Flirtin' With Disaster, a group show that has an assigned theme of the "end of the world" invites gallery

artists and special guests to make small (and a few large) works that look at where we're at....and where

we might be headed.
